Fakemon Design Contest – Winners announced!

I want to first start off by thanking every one of you who took the time to send in your amazing creations. We didn’t anticipate there would be so many people interested in entering our Fakemon Design Contest, so a big thank you to you all for making it a big success. The judging process was very difficult because there were so many great entries to choose from. At the end, we chose the ones we thought were the most unique, creative and best represented the category it was entered in. I would also like to thank  Hardrock-Pokemon once again for generously donating a handful of plushies for our contest. Also, a big thanks to Sunyshore/Gin, Monty and Frugrow for helping judge the contest.

As a note, there are 5 winners from each category as well as 2 winners that were randomly drawn from each category. The winner of the “early bird entries” is quivervine123.

1st place winners will each get to select one prize from the prize pot, a Pokemon Black and Pokemon White artfolio, and their artwork displayed on our website. All winners will be contacted by email later this week so please remember to check your email.

Information on how to claim a prize as well as an updated prize list will also be posted later this week.

Without further adieu, here are the winners from our Fakemon Design Contest! Well done everyone!

1st place: When I first saw this category, I envisioned a Pokemon exactly like this one. It’s like the artist was able to read my mind! I really hope to see a similar Pokemon like this in a future Pokemon game.

2nd place: We’ve had many lizards in the past but we’ve yet to have a salamander with a geyser on its back!

3rd place: What a unique looking Pokemon. I just love the contrasting elements of its design. I can definitely see this creature in a Pokemon game. Actually, it looks like it could belong in the Hoenn region’s tropical environment.

1st place: Silfirea’s design blew me away the first time I saw it. It’s so elegant, pleasing to the eyes, and definitely looks like it fits in the Pokemon world.

2nd place: I really enjoy Entorch’s design. It’s so sinister looking and looks like a tree you definitely don’t want to mess with!

3rd place: What a brilliant design! I love how much thought went into this design. It appears like any normal, old fallen log on the ground, but upon a closer look, it’s actually a ferocious Pokemon. I feel sorry for any Pokemon nearby that’s a part of its food chain.

1st place: The design is fairly simple but unambiguous, and bears a strong resemblance to Sugimori’s style.

2nd place: Creative design, detailed but not too complex.

3rd place: Very unique appearance, the sort of thing I’d want on my team based on looks alone.

1st place: I absolutely love this design, it looks like a great new Pokemon utilizing an incredibly unique idea; a lightning-horned fire rhino. The color scheme is also fantastic and eye-catching. I can just imagine the sort of adorable little critter he could evolve from. Such a great imaginary addition to the Pokemon world.

2nd place: This would make a spectacular new legendary Pokemon, perhaps with elemental counterparts, maybe some of the other entries in this contest in the other type categories! Love the colors, and the design is also incredibly loyal to Pokemon; I really feel like it would fit right in.

3rd place: This has got to be one of the most unique and refreshing Pokemon design ever! How can something so ordinary such as a stove look so
cool and threatening at the same time?
